Of course it’s dangerous. It’s an axe! Unlike bowling, (where you are handed a slippery pair of shoes and throw a slick, 16-pound ball with 3 fingers at a target 60 feet away) our friendly coaches stay with you during the entire session teaching proper throwing technique and maintaining a safe environment.
After checking in and signing the waiver, an axe coach will give a safety briefing. Then, the coach will spend time teaching each player the proper throwing technique. After everyone is sticking axes, you will begin competing with each other in head-to-head, team, or a round robin tournament.
Depends on how long you want to throw! We offer 1 hour sessions (back-to-back 1 hour sessions can be booked for a longer throwing AXE-perience). We recommend you arrive 15 minutes early to check in and sign waivers. Private events can be as long as needed.
$20 per player per hour. Group bookings are available for groups of 8-12 players: 1 hour – $18 per player.
For larger groups or private events please CONTACT US.
Yes, but we recommend that you make a reservation in advance to ensure that you secure a target. BOOK NOW
There can be up to 6 players per target (12 players per lane: 2 targets). We recommend at least 4 players to guarantee your own target. Groups of less than 4 may be paired with other players, but don’t worry, it’s a great way to meet new people!
Unfortunately, we do not allow outside food or drinks to be brought in. But, we are located within High Voltage and they serve beer, soft drinks, and meat and cheese boards. Food trucks will be on the premises Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. High Voltage also has an arrangement with Main Street Pizza, in which Main Street Pizza can be delivered to High Voltage and the Axe House. We do allow cakes and cookies to be brought in for private parties or special events.
We do not allow any open-toed shoes or high heels. We recommend wearing comfortable, closed-toed shoes and clothing that allows for maximum arm movement. Of course, flannel is always a great choice!
We have seen people from the age of 10 to the age of 80 stick an axe. However, it depends on the physical ability of the individual to be able to handle an axe. All minors (18 or younger) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, but the parent or legal guardian is not required to throw.
We prefer that you use one of our axes. If you do decide to bring your own axe, we will need to inspect it to make sure it meets our safety standards. We do not allow double headed axes, long axes, axes over 3 pounds, or axes that are extremely sharp.

We do have league play. Visit our LEAGUES page for more information.
We offer a 10% hero discount to all veterans, active military, police, firefighters, EMTs, first responders, and nurses. Just show your ID at check in. It’s a small way to say thank you for your service to our community and country!
No. Once you have signed the waiver, it is good for 1 year. We will keep your waiver on record for future visits.
